"I had always been fortunate and had never broken any bones, but that all came to a definite change one day in March. I had fallen and broken my hip and shoulder, and both were on the same side, so I was very limited as to what I could do for myself. I myself had worked in long term care, and hospitals, so I knew that I didn't want to ever have to go to one.  I was very independent and really didn't think that I would need anyone to take care of me. Well, after the surgery, my doctor suggested that maybe I should consider going to a nursing home for my rehab. I am very glad that I did exactly that. I went to Shady Lawn Nursing Center and I have never regretted my choice. I received excellent care, as good of quality of care that you could receive anywhere. Everyone was very attentive and professional. Everyone received as good of care as I was getting. The rehab department was excellent, making sure I made good progress, and motivated me when I was wanting to give up.
